8am IQ currently utilizes a Large Language Model (LLM) provided by OpenAI and accessed via their API platform.

8am IQ does not use the consumer version of ChatGPT, but rather OpenAI’s API platform. Based on their terms with OpenAI, your data is safe and will not be used to train OpenAI models. The free consumer version of ChatGPT may use inputs to train the model.

You remain in control. Your data is not sent to a LLM unless you click the 8am IQ button each time you want to send the specified data to a LLM:

Since you control the data inputs, you also control whether this includes personal data. Please use discretion in determining your input selection. The OpenAI terms prohibit transmission of sensitive health information and personal data pertaining to minors under 13. You should not transmit this type of data to 8am IQ.

8am encrypts data in transit using TLS 1.2+ and at rest via AES‑256. Both 8am and OpenAI are SOC 2 compliant. No customer data is used to train OpenAI models or exposed to other 8am customers. OpenAI may store data for up to 30 days before deletion. 8am enforces user permissions so 8am IQ can only access data users already have rights to view.

8am IQ utilizes a robust set of proprietary evaluation metrics to measure and monitor accuracy and hallucination detection. We also utilize several pre-configured prompts that are customized for specific tasks to increase the likelihood of accurate responses.8am IQ only supports pre-configured prompts that are customized for each specific task. Even with these steps, the outputs from 8am IQ may sometimes be misleading or inaccurate, and we recommend that you carefully review all output prior to any use or reliance on it.

As we add additional features to 8am IQ, we will continue to make investments in developing and testing 8am IQ to be less susceptible to inaccurate responses or hallucinations than other generalized GenAI interfaces that lack legal domain expertise, like ChatGPT.

Based on our terms with OpenAI, our customers’ data will not be used to train OpenAI models.

Our 8am IQ offerings do not train third-party AI models, but we may use inputs and outputs to develop and improve our products in accordance with our privacy policy and the security standards described above (How do you keep my data secure?).
